What I love most about this game is that there is always something new to learn.  Even after being around volleyball for 20 years, there is still something to tweak and some way to grow.  I will always be a student of the game whether in a coaching or player role and expect my athletes to be the same.  Growth in this game is inevitable and if you are willing to put in the time and the work, the game will reward you. I love to work with girls who want to learn, who want to work together as a TEAM and will push and hold each other accountable to achieve their goals.

I recently earned my National Scorekeeper patch through USAV.  As a coach I am Impact certified and have done additional concussion training this year as well as CPR and first aid. I have been coaching since 2000 with various clubs and age groups based on where I have been living, but am happy to say that I played for Rain City as a junior athlete, began my coaching career here, and have been back with the club for 3 years.

On a non-volleyball note: I have recently returned to school to complete science related pre-requisite courses and am applying to Physical Therapy programs this year.  This has been a big change from my original life plan as a photojournalist, but I still get to do photo work in my spare time.

I believe that if you want it and work hard for it, any girl can play volleyball in a college setting. It might not be for Penn State or USC or UW, but aim high, work hard and you will achieve.
